Catch Me If You Can Libretto by Terrence McNally, Score by Scott Wittman

Catch Me if You Can is a chase story wrapped up in redemption. Frank Abagnale Jr. learns what it means to grow up and love yourself as you are.

“A man’s alter ego is nothing more than his favorite image of himself.” Frank Abagnale, Jr.

The goal was to create an idealistic version of time and place, making bold use of color and graphics to match Junior's brazen choices.

Junior's world is curvy and sexy from a 1960s seventeen-year-olds perspective compared to Hanratty's rigid and angular world-view.

Director Christy Montour-Larson described the play as being like "champagne - effervescent, light, fun, bubbly, whimsical yet still an air of sophistication."

Production Photos

All photos were taken by the Missouri State University photographer.

Rendering and Selected Drafting and Painter’s Elevations

All renderings for this production were done digitally. First, the scenery was drafted three-dimensionally in Vectorworks. From there it was colored and rendered in Adobe Photoshop.

Slides

Over 100 unique slides were created for this show. Slides were displayed on an LED wall that was approximatley 15’x30’. Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro were used to create all the slides. Majority of the slides where still images however some video effects were applied to add a little magic. Some scenes that made use of video included adding snow to My Favorite Time of Year, champagne bubbles to The Jet Set, steam to Doctor’s Orders, and flying above clouds to Fly, Fly Away (a show-stopper!).
